Born Murre Bah on March 28, 1991, in The Gambia, Aziz VI was once a football player whose dreams changed forever after a accident at 17 left him visually impaired. Refusing to let adversity define him, he found strength through music, turning pain into purpose and poetry into powerful songs.
Inspired by radio and the healing force of sound, Aziz VI developed a unique songwriting style rooted in social consciousness and resilience. Through his music, he became a voice for differently abled people, carrying the message that “disability is not an inability.”
His journey later brought him to Germany, where he connected with Gambian producer Zeeman of Kairaba Productions. This meeting led to a collaboration with Celested Stars, an acclaimed studio team known for working with reggae artists such as Luciano, Lutan Fyah and Sara Lugo. Moved by Aziz VI’s vocals and spirit, they joined forces to create a 4-track EP.
The project showcases Aziz VI’s versatility and emotional depth. The title track “Keep the Faith” delivers a modern roots reggae sound infused with rock and dub influences, while “Without Your Love” embraces classic lovers reggae vibes. “Doku Watu Sita,” performed in Mandinka with Sambou Susso, calls for perseverance and hard work, and “Angel” blends reggae and highlife with saxophone melodies.
Aziz VI’s music is a celebration of courage authenticity and hope — proof that life’s greatest challenges can become a source of inspiration for others around the world.”
